Deep Impact had a very effective soundtrack for what it was trying to go for. It definitely set the scene with the music and captured the emotion and feeling of what was going on. Deep Impact was a great film, but was it science fiction or drama? Is it really that far fetched that a meteor could strike earth and kill off a large portion of civilization? While the likelihood of a meteor strike of that magnitude is not high, it is relatively believable. It is for that reason I would call it more of a drama. The movie Deep Impact, stars Elijah Wood, Tea Leoni, Robert Duvall, and Morgan Freeman. The story is about, a comet hitting the world and a crew of astronauts land on the comet and use dynamite to blow it up. The trial is a failure and they begin building underground. The east coast is destroyed and the west coast is saved because the members of the space shuttle conduct a suicide type mission and save the world.
